Traditional and complementary medicine practices in postoperative analgesia
Pharmacological methods are fast-acting, easily applicable and accessible methods with scientifically proven efficacy and standardized protocols. For this reason, it is the most preferred treatment method in the treatment of pain caused by various reasons. However, uncontrolled use of analgesics can sometimes cause more harm than benefit. Sometimes, the use of pharmacologic methods may be limited due to the patient's comorbidities and physiologic limitations, and may not provide the intended level of pain management. Due to the cost, it brings a serious burden to both the individual and the national economy. An individual approach should be the basis of pain management and it would be appropriate to consider the use of traditional and complementary treatment (T&CM) methods in the search for different methods.
